Ann's Flowers opens new shop, Tropicals (Artificial flowers)
ENGLEWOOD -- They're so blooming good, they had to expand. The owners of Ann's Flowers at 15 South McCall Road have opened a sister shop, Tropicals, in Eason Plaza at 2411 South McCall.
The story is familiar and arrestingly original. "Flowers for Algernon," by Daniel Keyes, is the oft-assigned "social science fiction" book about a mentally handicapped man who undergoes experimental surgery that enables him to reach and then surpass normal intelligence -- but only for a few months.
There might not be a better backyard place to celebrate culture than at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa., an international tourist attraction where people come to see some of the most beautiful flowers and plants imported from the world over.
