It was a tough (Flower deliveries) delivery day
2/15/2007 - by Victoria Barone The snowstorm that blew into Warren County on Tuesday afternoon and continued into Valentines Day gave florists and others making deliveries a hard time on Wednesday.
Blowing snow and sleet glazed windshields and roads across the Northeast and the Midwest today, messing up Valentine's Day flower deliveries and wrecking couples' plans for romantic dinners.
People who received flower deliveries on Valentine's Day may have no idea what it took for the flowers to make it to their door. Delivery men and women faced icy dirt roads, snow-covered driveways and freezing cold temperatures, said Victoria Schemansky, owner of the Flower Depot in Fort Gratiot.
Delivery trucks, day cares still dealing with effects of snow and ice. Feb 17, 2007 Audra Spahn knew families were counting on her help, but Wednesday's snow and ice storm forced her hand. For only the second time in 12 years, she was unable to open Nanny's Kids Child Care Centers.
Area florists spent the day hoping the weather forecasters were wrong.
